Need help please.

I searched around in some other threads but they were pretty confusing. On a scale of 1 to 10, concerning computer knowledge, I am about a 6. I need help getting "Privateer: Wing Commander" to work on my computer. I played it on my old computer about 5 years ago, it was my favorite game. Now on my new computer I can't get it to work to save my life. I even copied the 2 files from the disk and changed the cfg file, like it says to on that one website.
My new computer (well it's not really new, lol)
is a PII 266Mhz
98 Megs ram
8 Meg video card
Yahama Sound card(?)
Windows 98

If someone could PLEASE give me some instruction on how to get this to work, I hope I am not annoying anyone. I really miss playing privateer, please help me!
 
Silver, P1 can only be played in DOS. You'll need to make a bootdisk. If you want our help making one then post your c:\autoexec.bat, c:\config.sys, and c:\windows\dosstart.bat. Exactly which Yahama Sound card do you have? What mouse and graphic card do you have?
