Nav Map Problems

For whatever reason, whenever I try to access the Nav Map in Secret Ops by hitting Ctrl+N, I get an ingame message saying that "Autoslide Enabled". This is clearly not what I want. I can't get into my Nav Map! This is usually not a problem, but when I'm chasing down Cap ship missles or need to change my Nav point, missions become impossible. For one mission after I installed WC: Standoff, my Nav map worked in both games, but now it is back to it's old crappiness. I'm running Secret Ops on XP, compatibilty mode enabled for Windows 95, and I have the High-Res pack installed (although this problem existed from the start, days before I installed the Hi-Res package). Anyone know why this is happening?

What happens when you try it in a fighter that doesn't have autoslide? Are your fingers accidentally hitting the /? key between Control and N?

Actually, I get varied resonses. Sometimes, if I hit it too many times, I'll start firing flares, my guns will switch, or I'll even eject. I think I have some program problems.

That's probably too odd a set of circumstances to be some sort of corruption with the game software. Do you have a wireless keyboard or something that may be sending bad signals back? Is there a joystick plugged in that has mapped controls or something like that?

Nope, no wireless keyboard, no joystick, although perhaps the game thinks I have one. I'll look into it.

EDIT: I did a comlete uninstall and reinstall. No change, except now I'm crashing out more often when I do it. I hit CTR:+N and fire my decoys while autopiloting, and then I crash. Something is not agreeing with my computer.

Aha! I figured out my problem. I had Macromaker running almost the whole time, and Ctrl+N is set to do something else in another game. That's where the autoslide came in, that was one of the commands that ended up being used. I realized it today, and tested it out. With Macromaker on, it messed up. As soon as I shutdown Macromaker, the Nav Map worked. Moral of the story is, make SURE you know what your macromaker commands do!
