I've been trying to get Privateer working for ages, under Windows ME. Managed to get The Darkening working after a lot of effort, but not privateer. However, I was recently rather happy to see that the MyJEMM utility was supposed to get around it. Only problem is that I can't actually get a copy. The main site will not load it, nor will the only mirror I've found. Anyone know where I can get it from?

Excellent. Still no Strike Commander CD support. However, one certainly can't complain with Mr. Ridge's hard work as it is. Have I said excellent already?
 
the darkening

Hi ! I have a Privateer : The Darkening and when I want run it Privateer says : "Privateer 2 - The Darkering is a DOS product.
You must be in a full DOS mode to play the game."
I cant run it in DOS because i have sound card integrated (dos drivers not exists .....). I cant run P2 under DOS because he want sound card ! PLZ help !
 
This has nothing to do with MYJEMM which is for Privateer 1, not Privateer 2 the Darkening. You should have
a) looked for the solution for P2 which has been posted 1000 times
b) opened a new topic.

In any case first we need you Operating System.
 
Trouble Detecting Privateer 1 CD in MyJemm

for some reason i dont know what, MyJemm cannot seem to find the privateer cd. I took it out to see if it even detected the cd drive and appearently it did, asking me to retry abort or fail reading the drive. I put it back in there and start it up again and again and again and get the same message. do i have to edit the autoexec.bat and config.sys files?? i dont think it should be the case.... :(

btw: i have win98se and a legitamate Privateer 1 cd from the Origin Classics Collection with the nice blue shaded galaxy flying near perry naval base cd label i bought off a shelf at Sam's Club's Software Section sometime around 95 and 96, i have no idea why it wouldnt detect it.....

i dont know how..... or why..... but now it works :)
