My fake 90s website

A few years ago, I drew a bunch of crappy cartoons for a webcomic that took place in the mid 1990s. A few months ago, I made a site for them. I think I've captured the essence of the burgeoning internet, but I would like to know what you think.

http://dans.blingbitches.com/comics/

Also, does anyone know how hit counters and guestbooks work? I think that those could be part of the pièce de résistance.

Eehehehe, it's pretty funny.
The comics are specially good (because they're not actually funny, so they're intentionally unintentionally funny).

You even included those "Under Construction" GIFs.

Great job!

Haha, thanks, I was sort of making fun of webcomics, but figured that an ironically bad webcomic would actually be funny if it was made into sort of an in-joke.
The spider page was also designed to look like it was from the 1990s: http://hamtwoslices.net/spiders.htm

The rotating 'new' buttons (at the bottom) really make the effect for me.

EVEN NEW ER!!

I miss those crappy old 90s websites, now everything is polished and covered in flash animations, it makes me feel old.

Wow, somehow I'd forgotten how horrible those 1990s websites used to be :).

They did have one thing going for them, though - no flash.

Yeah, but this is sort of an idealized 90s crappy website, it doesn't have any gigantic JPGs or, even worse, BMPs

Oh! It also doesn't have any WAVs

My real 90s website is still online: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/7575/

There's an awesome bit of trivia about that. Both my homepage and ace's Happy Homepage both went online on June 26, 1996. It went away for a while or maybe I got some notice that it was going to go away, but then I hounded Yahoo about it for a long time so they didn't delete it when they tore down most of Geocities. I'm pretty impressed by that since it hasn't been updated since August 30, 1998 at 1:40 PM PST.

Same for agwc Homepage at http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Bay/7595/
