Mouse error

backstop, it would be better if you would stay with your original posting so we can follow whats been happening. For us to help you, you need to tell us what you been doing to correct this. We can't read your mind. Did you download the update drivers? Information is needed.
 
John12: is that crappy mouse error that i have some month ago... if isn´t the drivers, maybe the mouse isn´t plugged :D, seriously the driver is IMO the only option.
 
Ghost, I've also told him to update the mouse driver. In his original posting a couple of days ago I suggested it before you did. I tried to explain to him why he needs to update it. I also gave him a link. He would also need to properly update his driver though the Device Manager.

If his mouse wasn't connected to his PC he would have notice it when he couldn't use it in windows. I also found that the joystick and mouse in WCP work together. I have a Logitech Digital Extreme and if I don't properly cabibrate it the mouse goes all over the place. On the WCP Box it state that a Joystick is a requirement. If he does not have a joystick that may explain why he is getting this error. Also if he's using win2000 he may need the patch. By asking the correct question I hope to help him fix his problem. I do agree that its most likely is not the game but his PC.

I know that some of these problems seems like they are being ask all the time but if we don't help them propering they'll start to feel as if they been treated rudely and they may not come back and join this community. I been to other sites which I have ask for help and some users treated me poorily. I beleive in treating people as I would like to be treated.
 
Don't worry, John's just practising his "customer service skills". ;) No slight against you John, haven't seen such a dedicated Tech Support poster since Stinger.
 
Ghost, I don't know if you should be consider rude. It may be that I'm just over sensitive. You see I do this kind other stuff for a living. The company I currently work for has over 4000 people. Each have difference computer skill level and nationality. I need to be sensitive to each one.

Oh and I live in San Francisco area one of the most diverse areas in the US.
 
Why, thanks, Wedge. I'd have to say he's been doing a lot more than I have lately, though; I've never seen so many multi-page topics at one time in the history of the tech support board! (Not necessarily a good thing, mind you, John -- there's something to be said for expediency -- but it does show the amount of work you've been putting into things, and I for one am impressed.)
 
Gee wizz guess I should stick rithmatic. Yes I did install the latest drivers. Still no help. It is a USB port mouse if that is any help. All my other games (including WC3, WC4, Freespace 1 & 2, StarLancer etc, work just fine....only my favourite game won't work.
 
Sorry, more info...Using Window ME, Thrust Master Attack Throttle system (Joystick and Throttle) Asus GE-Force video card, Soundblaster value card......Any help?
 
Are we talking about Mouse Errors in Wing Commander: Prophecy? I still can't get my game to work in that. I install and then it gives me a "ERROR::NO MOUSE INSTALLED" window before crashing the game... :(

I, too, have WinME and a Wheelmouse 1/2 (USB) Mouse.

The mystery continues...
