I have been a total wingnut since the games came out. I recently found this site and with it was thrust from real life back into the wonderful world of Wing Commander. I have been playing through each game (I own them all) in order. Currently I am almost done with WC3. Last night I was just about to make the HUGE (back in the day to a 15 year old) decision on who to kiss. I made two save games so that I could see all the different scenes, and was ready to bask in the joy of WC . . . when the game crashed. No big deal right, I'm use-to the game crashing, but then it kept crashing at the same stop. So . . . I looked and saw a bad scratch on the disk. I polished the disk, but it didn't get any better. Then after trying everything I looked at the disk again very closely, and what I saw made my heart drop. . . 5 tiny scratches that I can see light through. The top of the disk is scratched - AKA: Dead disk. So, after fussing with it, it looks like the unreadable part is only in the CD4Movie.tre movie. I've been able to image the disk to the harddrive. All of the movies seem to play fine except the 4 flint/rachel movies in the movie file. This is the KS version of the games. I gave my dos copy away years ago when I got KS. So . . . I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the CD4Movie.tre file that I can use to replace my corrupted one? Or if any one has other ideas. Thanks in advance. I love this site and all the other sites related to it. It's good to know that I'm not the only crazy wingnut around.
