Another question. Is it possible to allow for re-mapping the joystick buttons. For example, it would be nice to use one of the hats to perform rolls (I have a USB Combatstick) instead of the keyboard.
 
It is certainly possible to remap the joystick. Check vegastrike.config (some random stuff at the top, then keybindings. Joystick bindings are under that)

Unfortunately I haven't been able to make the HAT on my joystick work since shortly after the guy who wrote the joystick code disappeared (years ago). Someday we'll get that going again :)
 
That's probably something that would be within your skill set to accomplish Mamiya0taru... I certainly can't fix it as my USB joystick of that era died and won't even get recognized on my systems :-(
