So there probably aren't a lot of of NASCAR fans around here, but I'm a huge Jimmie fan and I've been looking forward to this day for a long time, that and kicking Tony Stewart in the nads.:D
Okay not really the Stewart thing but still.
Jimmie has always been really great since he entered the sport and he's come so close so many times at the end of the season and now he finally has captured the cup.
I may weep openly.

Well personally I hate Nascar, but my mother and step-father are obsessed. He's a Dale Jr. guy but my Mom has this weird crush on Jimmie Johnson, so I'm sure she's pleased.

I used to think that NASCAR was races were kind of pointless, the old view of they just keep making left turns, then my little sister got me started actually watching a race and following a single driver. That's when it really sort of hooked me because I started picking up one what they meant when they were talking about a car being loose or tight. Plus rooting for a single driver to win adds some tension.
It's kind of like basketball. I don't know anything about basketball, i don't follow any of the teams. If I did I might garner a little more understanding and interest in the game, but then again I've lost all respect for NBA players.
If all you want are the crashes just tune into the last five or ten minutes and they'll recap the best stuff.

Oh I forgot to add that I also enjoy Nascar video games. After you get your car suped up and don't have anything left to upgrade it gets boring, but building virtual careers and watching yourself rise to the top of the ranks is always a blast. I still can't bring myself to sit through more than two minutes of an actual race, however.

I just can't watch Nascar...except for the crashes it's as boring as golf. I'd rather be out driving myself than watching a bunch of other guys drive. Yes I know they're running close to 200 mph but they're just doing laps. I don't like watching running relays either...they're just doing laps as well. I'm sure others have their cracks on Football or Basketball or soccer or any of the other sports but for some reason Nascar hasn't clicked with me. I guess I have problem with Nascar being called a sport. To me a sport must involve some athletic ability. For this reason I don't believe Golf is a sport either, I think it's more of a hobby.

I've never been interested in any sports, really. I played my fair share when I was younger but that's the only time I ever enjoyed them. I've never been interested in watching other people play.

This was especially true today, where one of the cars (Montoya) actually came as close as a stock car does to blowing up. Impact, spinout, FireFireFire in the gas tank.
