like everyone else here i have random crashes when leaving planets. that i can handle, the problem is that every time i go around nav point 75 and the stations in the area i get the same crash can anyone help?

What kind of stuff have you tried to alleviate this so far? Are you in compatibility mode? Have you copied any IFF files over? Have you disabled DirectX 3D acceleration? If you have the DOS version, have you tried going through that area in DOSBox?

yes
a couple of things, copying the iff files, using compatability mode when i tried disabling hardware acc i got a blank screen when started the game.
i also used the slowdown patch, that did nothing.

That could be a sign of a more significant incompatibility. Have you tried adjusting the hardware acceleration and misc options for both the sound and video card? You might need to go through both the standard control panel and dxdiag program.
