Don't know if this is the best place for this post, but hey, it's off the mainstream chat board. I've been on the post for about 1/2 a year and I guess I'll finally ask this question:

How do you post a poll in the General Chat Area? The little FAQ doesn't help much becasue I can't find a poll button.

I'd appreciate some help

The Admins shut the polls down a few weeks ago after some people abused their right of posting them. Some guy posted like 6 polls at once asking "Which fighter do you like the most in WC1?", "And WC2?", "And WC3?", and so on... The Admins then closed those polls and banned all new polls because the poll posters started to call them names.

I think they will return with the polls soon, they must be thinking of a way to approve polls before they are posted in order to avoid stupid, repetitive polls like those we had been seeing lately...

Since there´s no way to post polls now, this looks more appropriate for the "General" forum but it will be fine here too...

You cited only one incident. In fact, a number of people had been abusing the poll option for weeks prior to that. The fighter poll situation wasn't necessarily the last drop either, it just hastened the process. The way things were going, the poll option would have been disabled sooner or later anyway. Any name-calling that may have taken place was not a factor in the decision to disable polls.
 
That´s because I am relatively new here. I agree that the name calling wasn´t the biggest reason for shutting down the polls but it sure did not help when that ColonelHayden guy called Loaf a Nazi.
 
Alright, I didn't know they had been shut down, thanks. New developments in the CIC and I miss them. I'll calmly continue walking through life with my horse blinders on. :)
