Howie Day arrested for in-flight rowdiness

Oh my.

Howie Day was arrested at Logan International Airport for rowdy behavior on a Boston-bound flight after he became intoxicated from a mix of alcohol and a sleeping pill.

"He had a couple of drinks. The pill interacted with the drinks and he became intoxicated. He feels badly if he inconvenienced anyone, or caused any discomfort," Kelley told reporters outside court. "He has and will apologize, and our hope is that we'll be able to resolve this thing as promptly as possible."

David Procopio, a spokesman for the Suffolk District Attorney's office, said Day smoked a cigarette in the airplane bathroom.

"He was verbally abusive to the flight crew and was kicking the backs of seats of passengers in front of him," Procopio said.

The flight arrived at Logan on Thursday.

In March 2004, Day was arrested in Madison, Wisconsin, for allegedly locking a woman in the bathroom of a tour bus after she refused his sexual advances. He then broke the cell phone of another woman who tried to call police, according to the criminal complaint.

I wasn't aware that Howard was previously arrested as well.

Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to do any work on Pioneer until this gets sorted out. Awful nice of them to let me use the jail's computer, though. In my defense, I had no idea those pills and the airplane's booze would set each other off. Who could have? I've already apologized to the flight crew, and as many passengers as I could find.
Anyhow - gotta go arrange for the hearing. Wish me luck.

Didn't know that international popstars had time to make 3D wing commander stuff! Cool. Just take it easy with the booze from now on, dude... :)

next time,
render an italian shoe instead of a space fighter. that won't get you turned down so easily:D
modelling a french handbag might also do:p

My cousin is a huge fan of yours Howie, do I tell her to keep the faith, or are you destined for a spot on E! True Hollywood Story?

That's the nasty thing about sedatives like sleeping pills and alcohol, Howie. They have an exponential effect on each other, rather than a cumulative effect, thus making for a high degree of unpredictability when they are mixed.

This is why there is a fairly high incident of accidental deaths and sedative-induced psychosis: using regular math you would never guess that the sedatives you mixed would have such a punch.

They're tricky that way.

Sorry to hear about this mess. I hope you get it all sorted out soon.

(Btw, this is assuming that you are the same Howie Day in this article and that you actually are in jail. Sometimes I miss the sarcasm/subtle jokes across the internet. Anyways, if you are one and the same, good luck.)

I remember you Howard, I used to live in the same city as you. Eugene, matter of fact I was just there this last saturday.

You had some fantastic work with computer modeling, sadly I disapeared from this site when you were working on your Hornet model. How did that work out?

Rather spectacularly. And given a choice between sedative-induced psychosis and death, I'd go with psychosis. But then I don't usually drink nor take sleeping pills.

Still, you should know better than to mix any sort of medication with alchohol. :) Nonetheless, I look forward to hearing of your release, Howard.

Yes, that's all I needed to know. I thought as much. I must admit that I am not very internet savvy (and I know that doesn't come as a shock to anyone here), so I really don't know about checking IP addresses.

However, due to many experiences, I never consider it a waste to make sure people know about the exponential effects of sedatives. So, while there is a bit of "egg on my face," as they say here, I'm glad to have at least brought up the subject.
