How to get the joystick to slow down?

Captain
I am running WC1 via Dosbox. I have a non-USB CH flightstick pro that I have hooked into a Rockfire USB gameport adapter. Game runs great, joystick works fine, except it is TOO quick. (A slight pull on the stick to the left, and it's like I yanked hard. Makes it hard to fly and shoot) I have used the Win XP calibration for the stick in the control panel, but the routine does not address speed.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Do you still have a gameport that you can plug the joystick into? You might try changing to joysticktype=2axis or timed=false in the [joystick] part of dosbox.conf.

Thanks for the reply Chris. No, there is no gameport on the machine, just USB. Would the DosBox Commands you mentioned work on the old style stick routed through it's USB adapter?

Yeah, definitely give them a try regardless of what stick and how you have it plugged in here. I don't think DOSBox has a way to fine tune things like speed, so if that doesn't do it, you might have to see if someone ever made a third party program to do so.
