How do you run WC2 with Moslo?

I can't bypass the batch file, otherwise it tells me that the Origin/FX drivers aren't being loaded. Is there some way that I can modify a batch file so that the drivers get loaded? I have tried running the wc2.exe file directly from the CD. If someone could please tell me how to run it with Moslo, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please post the content of wc.bat, and also inform what WC2 CD? version do you have (Kilrathi Saga?)

He doesn't have KS. If he did he wouldn't need a autoexec.bat, config.sys or moslo. KS has native Win95 support so it plays in win9x/XP and it doesn't need moslo. Since he has the WC2.BAT this means he has the CD version. The floppy version doesn't have the WC2.BAT it uses the WC2.EXE.

I have WC2 floppy. I didn´t even know that there was a CD version. Can he copy the CD to his HD and not use the batch file?

That I don't know. I only have KS and I never use moslo. If I had WC2 CD I would experement but I don't. TC, Kris or Ghost may know. Wait for someone whom has experences with is issue to post. It should take more then a couple of days. Make note of their solution for next time.

I believe that WC2.BAT runs off the CD (D:\WC2.bat). Maybe if you copy the wc2.bat to the C:\ORIGIN2 and edit it too run with moslo. Make sure you use the full
Example: “c:\moslo\Moslo.com /50 D:\WC2.exe.”
Be aware that this is only a idea, I not know if would work.

Are you playing it from the CD? IIRC, the Origin FX drivers not loaded message happens when trying to play with the game files being read-only. The batch file helps solve this when playing from CD.

John's got the right idea. Though you sometimes get this error with read only files, it's generally because you aren't running the program in Wing Commander 2's directory. It looks for the OFX files and can't find then. It tells you and dumps back to DOS. So, if you're running it off the CD, you go to the CD (I'll use D: and do it like this)

D:> c:\moslo\moslo.com <insert terms here> WC2.exe

if you want to run it out of your installed directory on your hard drive you'd do it like this (assuming it's installed to c:\wing2\

C:\WING2> c:\moslo\moslo.com <insert terms here> WC2.exe

alternatively you could copy moslo to your wc2 directory and just go:

C:\WING2> moslo.com <insert terms here> WC2.exe

Playing it pretty fast

I have the deluxe edition on CD-ROM. I'm trying to execute the file directly from the CD. However, it doesn't seem to be working. I get the reboot on the batch file, and the .exe file basically doesn't recognize my installation. I'm actually able to play it, albeit pretty darn fast. If I slow down the cutscene dialogue, I can actually follow the story. The gameplay isn't too fast that it's unplayable. Too bad the digitized voice doesn't work. Oh well. Gotta love those old MIDI soundtracks! Thanks again for all of your help.

WC2 should already be playing at the right speed, so if it's too fast for you, maybe you're just too slow. ;)

Alternatively, you can try fiddling with the frame rate controls - hold down ALT and use the + and - keys on the numpad.

Too slow?

Yeah, right. I'm too slow.
Already finished all regular missions and most of Spec Ops 1. Bring on Spec Ops 2!;)
