I just downloaded WC1 on my laptop. I am using Windows XP. I can't hear the music! What do I do? Also, it's going super fast! how do I slow it down? I heard about moslo - is that safe to use? Will that slow down my entire computer??? please help!

were you able to install it? or did you just use the existing .exe to run the game?

moslo is safe to use. It's just using most of the cpu power, so the juice left to the game is like a 486DX or a pentium. I think it's like Seti@Home or something. If you close the program your computer will work as good as ever.

For the music, you might need vdmsound ( ntvdm.cjb.net ) to emulate a Sound Blaster ISA card. Some old Dos Games don't like PCI / on Board sound card, because they need direct access to the hardware.

yes i was able to install it but there's no sound and its going hella fast. i also looked into moslo - how do you install this? sorry but I am a newbee when it comes to this stuff. all i want to do is play the classic wc1! i tried to download moslo - and i think i did - but i can't see it on my desktop or anything! help!

Dowload moslo. ( I think it's moslo132.zip or moslo.zip )
Unpack it with winzip, winace, winrar or the build in zip program in xp.
To run the program:
in the start menu, select Run... , then type cmd, click ok.
Change the path to the moslo path. Something like that:
c:
cd\games\moslo
Now, run the game. The /20 parameter is the percent of the slow down. You can change it, if it's too slow or too fast.
You can change the game path too, if it's not the same.
moslo /20 c:\games\wc1\wc.exe
