Help with control options please!

I'll get to the point: I have played all other wing commander games up to wc3 with the keyboard, using the arrow keys to control the fighters. I don't have a joystick, and never liked them when I used them before, and would prefer not to use one. When I try to control the fighters in wc3 with the keyboard's arrow keys, the fighter will turn, but turn so miserably slowly that the game is unplayable, since it isn't possible to keep an enemy fighter in front of you. I'm looking for an alternative, such as possibly controlling the fighter with the mouse, or a way to set the sensitivity of the arrow keys up much higher in DOSBox or something. The mouse works when I'm navigating around the ship, but not out in space flying the fighter. No clue why. Anyone know how to get the mouse working or increase the sensitivity of the arrow keys on the keyboard using DOSBox? Either would fix my problem. Thanks!

Well, got the mouse working. Unfortunately it sucks, because instead of pointing wherever you move the gun sight, like when using the keyboard or a joystick, this damn circle appears on the screen that your gun sight "follows". At a considerable lag. It makes fine control nearly impossible. Tried adjusting mouse sensitivity, but it had no effect on the problem, just made me slower turning. Keyboard controls are still responding ridiculously slow. oh well...back to trying to figure out how to make they arrow keys turn you faster, which i don't think im going to find a solution to.

For keyboard controls, try holding shift for quicker turns and don't use shift for more precise aiming as required.

I never tried to play with mouse.

You should give the joystick option another try as it is the preferred way to play these games, as manoeuvrings like this and this become possible.

Some people have success using gamepad type controls as well.

Preferred for most, perhaps, but it is still possible to complete everything using keyboard controls.
