HELP - WC Prophecy graphics corrupted!

Hello there.

I just finished a clean install of Wing Commander Prophecy (3 Cd's) and afterwards I installed the Hi-Res enhancement pack without any problems.

However, when I launch the game everything looks like it's in CGA (you know, like 4 colors at the most) - this happens with the video sequences AND gameplay graphics as well. The gameplay in itself is perfect - no stuttering whatsoever, and the sound is also fine. It's just that the graphics appear somehow corrupted.

What's stranger is that after I press Esc and then select Quit to abandon the game, I can see that, while the game is terminating, the graphics display in all their glory, without any corruption at all!!!!! 2 seconds right before closing, that is!!!! Just to sum it up, I start the game, bad graphics. I tell the game to quit, excellent graphics right at the end!

If this is any help, I have an ATI 4850 graphic card. I've set the prophecy.exe to Win95 compatibility mode and at the installer I've specified Direct3D mode.

Any assistance greatly appreciated!!!! :(

Try to alt-tab (respectively alt-ESC) out of the game, then switch back and see if this changes anything. I get some of the errors you describe when I do that, so maybe that procedure does the reverse for you

It might be worth a shot... I'll give it a try later on this weekend and let you know how it went.

On a side note, I've installed WCP on my laptop and it runs without a glitch.

No joy - when I do ALT+ESC I see the graphics perfectly right before jumping to the desktop. When I jump back to the game they remain corrupted...
