Getting back into the game.

Torino

Spaceman
I have played wing commander since it first came out on the PC, thru middle and high school. I stoped playing about 4 years ago, but recently found my disks and sparked my intrest.

First problem:

My disks are in very poor condition, my WC4 disc one is missing alltogether. The only disk that works is Armada (uck!) where can you find these games now? I dont really trust Ebay, are thair any alternitives?

Second problem:

my slowest system is a 900MHZ running a duel boot 98/2000 finding dos baised drivers for new hardware is impossible. are there some sort of DOS emulators out there? maybe some generic dos drivers? Or do you run these games on preserved first generation pentiums?

lol thats kinda funny in a sad way for me...Your slowest machine is faster then my fastest one...:o

There are emulators like the one for Privateer "MyJemm" that can be found here .

But I think your best bet is to get a slower machine, even thow this protecular emulator works very good you'd have a easyer time and wouldnt half to bother installing a bunch of new stuff if you just get a "WC machine" like some of us have.

Most games you don't actually need a slower machine. Just about everything can be made to run in some flavor of windows on modern PCs. The specific details depend on the game and your system. eBay is a very good source for old WC games.. if you're ready to try it we can easily walk you through that.
