Hey All, I've been having trobule with Word and Paint. Paint won't open and Word won't let me save. Here's a copy of the Error Messages:

Can anyone help?
 
Did this just start happening recently (like out of the blue) or has this always been a problem? You could always try uninstalling and reinstalling word and paint (actually I'm not sure about paint, you'd have to look into that). Otherwise, go to microsoft.com and ask the tech guys.

Personally I'd frist try to disable everything that is in memory (firewall, virus scanner, DL managers, P2P Networks, Realplayer,...)

If that doesn't work I'd try to replace the files MFC42.DLL and OLE32.DLL with good copies of them.

If that doesn't work it is Reinstall Windows time I'd say.
 
I think that Starkey is right.Just format and youll have a fresh computer again....I format every month :p

It's that special time in the month again. The time to reinstall Windows ;)

I still dunno why people do it tho. I didn't reformat my system for >3 years.
 
Well, when I keep getting that "general protection fault" error every time I touch the keyboard, I just press the red button and start it all over again.
