Gameplay Videos?

I'm expecting to get a joystick for Christmas, then I hope to play Standoff (I know, you don't need a joystick, but I don't think I'd like playing with a mouse/keyboard). So in the meantime, I was hoping to check out some videos of the game, but can't find any. Has anyone made any vidoes (couldn't find any on youtube or here)? In some ways it's good that there's no videos so the game can be a surprise, but I'm the type who'll shake my presents to get an idea of what's inside ;)
 
I use to have a Mac. I've had my PC for about a year, but didn't have a joystick (bro-in-law offered his for free, after finally getting it, I found it didn't have the right plug-in). Hopefully I'll have one soon! I could've bought one, but since Christmas was so close... I can tell from all the comments, including this thread, that it's a REALLY fun game. I haven't even played Prophecy either, so I'm still living in the mid-nineties.. I'm sure this game will be a real treat.

.. so no videos, huh? Might be good advertising to put a trailer on YouTube.
 
Heya. As far as I know, noboy has mande any gameplay videos... it sounds like a good idea, though, so, uh, one of you video clip experts, feel free to go and make one!
 
I have to admit, I've just poked around with Standoff. I loved what I saw, but I didn't want to keep hitting cliffhangers, so I've been waiting for Episode 5 to come out so I can play the whole thing!
 
I don't think there's any real plot-related 'cliffhangers', each episode is self-contained within a specific system. I suppose at this point we're all waiting for the big Battle of Terra, but it's not a huge deal. I'm pretty sure you can play Standoff now without fear of being left hanging.
 
You will probably be begging for more, but I don't think you'll be left hanging as Wedge said. The first 4 Eps also aren't a walk in the park, so they will take some time to playthrough then replay through to explore the other paths.
 
I was actually considering trying my hand at using FRAPS to grab a bunch of footage close to episode 5's release and putting together a proper trailer. It certainly warrants it.
 
If there is a video made, hopefully a fan will make one rather than the Standoff development team. You guys have enough to do already.
 
Yeah but keep making threads like this. It reminds the guys that they've got eager fans how have been waiting for the chance to fight BoT for more than a decade. So keep harrassing them :)

I just noticed some mail start coming in from the Standoff mailing list today, which is always a good sign. :D

I has hoping to include some small amount of ep5 footage into the mix however. But if one of talented individuals behind the music videos wanted to mix some pre-made footage that would certainly be a better option.

I'd certainly give it a shot if you had some footage. I don't know how well my FRAPS is working right now though.
 
Don't worry about that, I'll FRAPS some footage and let you get to work. Give me some time, I want to add some improvements to the GL first (first and foremost improve the lens flare and stop it appearing through capital ships). And thanks!
