Frigate WIP

Okay - a new model from me. This is a multirole frigate design I've been working on, with the ability to swap out different hull modules depending on the particular mission. Right now its got a length of 493 meters, other specifications are still fluid. Renderings are below and comments are welcome!

I like this...is the hollow area in the center where the modules can be installed?]

What kind of defensive armor are you envisioning that would come standard on the hull regardless of which module was installed?

looks good, but the module area looks pretty big for the size of the ship.

Somehow this ship gives me a submarine felling. I like the idea of changeable hullparts but the holding parts look a bit fragile to me. On the other side the WC3 frigattes where even more fragile.

ELTEE: I'm envisioning armor roughly 3/4 the strength found on a Murphy class destroyer. While there aren't set in stone, I envision an armament of between 7 and 9 dual laser turrets and a couple of torpedo launchers in the bow I might add.

Thanks for the comments so far! Here are renderings of the hull with the basic module shape installed. The module can be modified for many things (Field Hospital, Marine Detachment, Communications Suite).

I don't think so, the one firm Wing Commander frigate size that's out there is quite large.

Which one is that and how big is it?

The WC4 Frigate, the Canearvon (sp?) is 630 meters long.
