DXR2 question

Hey- If I get a Dxr2 or 3 card (to play WC4 DVD on), I've gathered that you can couple it with pretty much any DVD drive & it'll work.

My question, then, is this: Since it's an older controller, will the card "dumb down" my DVD player so that it reads 'em SLOWER than the drive (assuming it's a spiffy new, say, 12X DVD reader) is rated for?...

Same question Re: CD's: If the drive is rated as, say, 40x CD -reader, will this card dumb it down to a primitive (say, 6x) speed?...

No it won't. I would suggest you get the Dxr3 card. It's has better performance. The Hollywood Plus card is the exact same card as the Dxr3. Sigma Designs just places the CL's logo on it.
