ok in making my own models. or modifying exising models. I've used IFF to dxf but where is dxf to IFF or is there different formats to make the models usable in Secret Ops/ Vision Engine etc... Help help help drowning and need a floatation device!! But texturing has been going well, for that project.

To get new models into SO, you need ModelC... it's available from Thomas Bruckner's page (with a warning about how it is "very technical" :p). It reads a bunch of .wcp files and compiles then into an IFF.

And then you need something to create the .wcp files in the first place - you need either the 3D Exploration plugin (and 3D Exploration) or the PEOView tool (and something that can save to PEO format). Both can save to .wcp format which ModelC can then compile into IFF. I think there was a LWO conversor as well, I don't remember for sure.

This is all from Thomas's site. Tutorials are available from Killerwave's site.

New Update to Where 3d Explorer is. Thomas Bruckners Site is out of date on the 3d Exploration tool. Using 3d Exploration your able to convert OBJ & 3ds Models to PEO Format which is also what Homeworld uses. Yay I found it Thanx for helping out Eder.

Model C?

Ok I was able to get my dxf model to obj model and ultimately into the game (it was drawn to scale). But It seems when I tried using model C to scale the model so that it's aroudn the size of the Panther. It still is way too big (Fills ups screen) and also points down instead of straight to fly. Is there anything that I'd be doing or should be doing to remedy this. If anything I'll send the PEO model to someone along with the MATs and if someone has more experience in rotating it and scaling it in Model C that would be greatly appreciated.
