DosBox and USB Joysticks

Dran

Ok I finnally went through and got my wing commander games all together, and downloaded dosbox, and I found my old Joystick. Everything was working... but now my joystick is out of commission. I plan to see if there is anything I can do about getting it to work, but truth be told, it is quite old. I know I have seen people having issues with USB joysticks and Dosbox, is this still an issue? Can anybody recommend a good usb joystick with ruddders and such like the sidewinder 3D of old? Thanks.

I've never had a problem using my dual shock through a USB adapter (from Radio Shack) in dosbox. Although I only use dosbox in Linux so maybe Windows is a different story.

What kind of joystick are you using?

I hooked my old Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro up after I decided to start playing Wing Commander again. It worked fine for a few days, then it stopped working all together. Windows wouldn't even show it as being connected to the computer.

I asked around, and I was told that this is, evidentially, a common problem with Sidewinder pros. In the end, I had to find a new joystick.

Thanks all, I used to have the Sidewinder 3d, but had the same problem as you, I biked over to my local Best Buy, and they did not have much, but they did carry the Logitech 3d Pro. It is cool, though I am having an issue getting the throttle to work. I can record key commands, put it just dosn't seem to hold once I restart the game. But besides that joystick is wonderful.
