Dos WCIII

I use Dosbox and D-Fend Reloaded and have managed to get WCI, WCII and WCIV running perfectly, and it seems like WCIII would work too, but when I try to run the game, it goes automatically to the duty logs screen which because I've not been able to start a new game, means I'm stuck.

Are there any ideas on how to fix this? Or maybe a save game file from the start of the game that I coud load?
 
Are you making sure to put in disk one? IIRC the game goes to the load screen if you put in anything other than disk one.
 
Better to have found the solution to a silly problem, than to be stuck still looking for the solution to a serious one, methinks.
