digitized voices on wc2 deluxe

i can run wc2 deluxe on dos box with pc speakers (sound effects only) just fine. but i want to use the digitized voices. dosbox claims that i do not have enough ram to do so, oddly enough i got digitized voices to work before. i increased the amount of ram dosbox gets from eight all the way to one twenty eight, but i still cannot get digitized voices.

my system is a p2 450 with 256mg's of ram, is it hopeless for me?
 
i just scanned dosbox.conf and i see nothing about emm memory, i do have ems and xms memory though. could you enlighten me to how i would get emm memory, or am i just making a fool out of myself?
 
EMM and EMS are the same. Well at least as far as any non geeks are concerned.
EMS = Expanded Memory Specification
EMM = Expanded Memory Manager
One is an implementation of the other.

As to why the voices don't work I dunno.
What does the "mem" command say?
 
572kb free convetional memory
6448 free extended memory
6448 free expanded memory

that's the output for mem. shouldn't that be enough to run the game with voices and all though?
