Clive Owen is James Bond??

Dund, you're way behind the times :(

People have been saying that for around a year or so now.

I always thought he'd make a good Bond. Oh, and he's actually my 3rd favorite privateer. You shouldn't assume things like that.

I don't often keep up with such things...ah well just thought I'd let those who don't know into the loop...

I thought they officialy decided he was out of the runnings for the Bond gig? I think they are talking to Eric Bana now...not my first choice but much better than Heath Ledger.

Brosnan's using the media to get more money. He knows all the people in the running for the new bond really suck. Clive Owens a great actor, but his past roles seem to indicate he'd be more adept at a more 'literary Bond' that everyone will hate (think dark, brooding, cold Timothy Dalton Bond . .. probably the closest to the originally Fleming Bond on paper - thanks to the fact that he actually read the novels before becoming Bond - and I don't think anyone actually liked his portrayal) :(

Im not sure if Eric Bana would work as Bond, he's too much of a "G'day Mate" type of guy (bloke) :) Not that theres anything wrong with that...... its just its pretty much the polar opposite of the suave secret agant character. He's a great actor though, so he may be able to pull it off. Hugh Jackman is a better choice I think...

Thank god the people who did the remade Battlestar Galactica isn't in charge of selecting the actors, cause they might make Bond a woman, or a homo, or something like that in the name of "creative liberties".

Dalton was by far, my favourite Bond. I think your right about Clive Owen playing the role in a similar way, and I'd be very happy about that.

I liked Timothy Dalton as Bond...didn't think he was all that far off the mark but evidently he wasn't too popular with everyone else. Clive Owen would make a great Bond character IMHO but he's not well known enough and as someone mentioned he's too dark, brooding a character to hit it well with the general populace. Besides I'm fairly certain that I saw an article that said the producers had definitely eliminated him as a candidate. Hugh Jackman would be liveable but he's too expensive for them to afford. (I think the article was actually posted here in a news update...)

Clive Owen would make a *damn good* Bond, unlike most other actors I've seen people speculating about...
