I'm pretty sure not. But if it was possible you'd have to select the pirate's base in the navmap.

You can defect to the pirates, and it leads to a different ending for Episode 1 than the one that leads to Episode 2.

Wasn't there something in WC2 and Wc§ ?

Traitors never win.

^^

I tried it a long time ago. It is funny, but it is like it is in WC. Traitors. never win ^^

Yeah for Tolwyn he was a traitor, but was Blair really a Traitor?
Only because somen say you are a traitor, you do not have to be one :P

I do not know a good english sentense. In germany you would say

"Die Wahrheit liegt im Auge des Betrachters"
The Truth is in the eye of the beholder

nevermind.

I mean in WC you can never be a Traitor to your comerads. I mean, Blair was loyal to Eisen and the Ideals of the Confederation.
I mean, you can't be loyal to the corrupted confederation in the end, the lexington will be destroyed ^^

Blair was not a traitor, but he did defect to the Borderworlds making him and the rest of his comrades an enemy to the confederation. Blair simply could not choose a flag over his friends.

However its really a question of loyalty and confeds values. Blair did SEEM to regret defecting for a short while since it meant betrayal, but realised that it was not him that broke his 'oath of loyalty' to confed but that confed simply broke theirs to the citizens of the terran confederation.

We may think that perhaps Tolwyn did see Blair as a traitor to humanity rather than just to the confederation, ultimatley, in his mind. But then again...he simply discarded Blairs image as the great Heart of the Tiger, and made him seem as the enemy and a traitor to confed simply because he wanted to win the backing of Paladin and the rest of the assembly in confed to see through an intergalactic war that would of kept the confederation 'at his feet' and prepare for the REAL enemy to arrive.

I would think that Eisen and Blair went renegade and their public image painted with the words of traitors to confed.

Now...how exactley can you defect to pirates???

After locating the pirate base, you'll be given the choice to do so by one of the pirates... but you have to reset your autopilot to the pirate base manually (press CTRL-N, then select the pirate base nav point by right clicking on it), otherwise your computer just sticks to the flight plan... which, at that point, is to take you back to the Lionheart.
