Can someone tell me what this is

I found this winged beast yesterday perched on top of my neighbours' garden shed. Does anyone know what kind of bird it is?

That's actually a peahen - a peacock being the brightly colored male of the species. And they scream loud enough to wake the dead when they feel like it.............and they taste like chicken.

The actual real CORRECT term would be peafowl. Peacock and peahen being used to distinguish sex. And since it doesn't appear to have the huge tail feathers of the male, it's probably a peahen. Think pheasant under glass.

I suppose you eat your birds, fish and cattle while they're still alive. I think that killing them and cooking them first is more humane and brings out the best flavor.
