Can i use a gamepad with analogue stick in dos mode?

Hi again,

i would like to use a gamepad ( like a Playstation 2 gamepad) with analogue stick and gameport connector (not USB) in privateer1 and other DOS games. Is that possible or should i use a analogue joystick? I do not like joysticks!

I suppose it might work. Is it new? Does it have DOS drivers? If all you needed to do was to just plug it in, I suppose it would work.

But seriously, a joystick is THE way to experience flight/space combat sims. I mean, the game wags a yoke at you, why not wag a yoke back at it? I like my joystick. (And nobody say something... fairly indecent, please. )
