A Localization Interrogation (November 15, 2017)

Damn, that one is going to be hard because it's exactly the set of goodies I had back in the time. I suppose it's not just the language, right? :-P

I got my copy in Australia, which was printed in Singapore if I recall correctly. Aside from the obvious English vs French differences, I don't recall getting a sector map (boo), the CD prints had white backgrounds and single-colour foregrounds (at least that I can recall), I only had the ICIS in-universe booklet (no recollection of a flight manual, certainly not one with a colourful cover), and I don't think I had the print-out of the Hydra either.

...now that I think about it, it looks like I missed out on a lot. I recall the reference cards and epilepsy warning, but not much else.

It's not a print-out, it's the box of the game which front that can be "opened" to reveal that scene with the Hydra.

See, that's because she had all these goodies Blair went with Angel rather than Hunter. :-P

My CDs were silver-ish, with (if I can remember right) the Vampire in purple, the Piranha in orange, and the Shrike in green. Also, the Prophecy box opened to a shot of the Midway flying towards the "camera", with several fighters flying over her in escort. At the bottom were pics and brief descriptions of the Confed fighters.

It's the last shot from this update: https://www.wcnews.com/news/update/9073

Little details I might be wrong about, but I think my reference card did not have the color version of the Prophecy logo, and the number font on the CDs looks a bit different. The numbers on my discs were a bit more rounded, almost stylized, versus the plain font type here.

My box was only disks (all 4 with Vampries, silver+one color, if I remember correctly), ICIS, manual, flight control reference chart. No map, no Hydra poster, no that manual with bug ships.
Game itself in English, box and guides translated in perfectly decent Russian, but no signs on who did that, only Origin here and Origin there.

I had the universe chart, but not the flight manual.. did have the flip-open box.. but mine was "locked" with sticky tape, not with Velcro. Bought it the day it hit the stores here...

Ah, of course, I see now.

Oh, ha ha! :p

Strange, my copy was only 3 CDs. I think the ships were the same as what was printed on the French version here, but I can't recall if they were necessarily in that order.

Looks like my version. Main difference was that my version had Swedish language manuals.

Huh, strange that they didn't try to change the size of the red bars - in English the red wording fits in between them.

Doesn't the Prophecy Gold version include Secret Ops on a 4th disk?
