    Wing Commander 3: Silly Stuff

This raises an interesting question, though. If the Concordia and the Victory were in service at the same time, wouldn't the Concordia have the newer fighters (Hellcats, Thunderbolts, etc.) and the Victory be equipped with the older-model (WC2) craft? Since the Concordia is on the front lines...

And, of course, Hobbes' Kilrathi accent. :D

    Name that Bird!

Actually, it's the Tu-160 "Blackjack" strategic bomber. The Russian supersonic airliner is the Tu-144 (NATO codename "Charger") and it's actually still in service as a flying laboratory. There were never any technical problems with the plane. The reason it was retired was because of the...

    Name that Bird!

Bell P-39 Airacobra. How about the Tu-160?

    Name that Bird!

YF-23 "Black Widow II". It should have won, IMO... it was *such* a cool-looking plane. Unconventional designs are great - I'd love to see a dogfight between the Su-47 Berkut and the YF-23. How about the L-39?

    Name that Bird!

Dominator's right. S-37 and Su-47 are the same plane, both named the "Berkut". They're a supermaneuverable next-generation fighter with forward-swept wings. The Su-37 "Terminator" is another member of the Su-27 family, but it's *much* more sophisticated (and deadly) aircraft when you compare...

    Name that Bird!

The Wright Brothers' plane is the "Flyer". In a few months, it'll be 100 years since the first flight. What's the name of the rather incredible new Su-47?

    F-100 "Super Sabre". MiG-21.

    Name that Bird!

Q-5 "Fantan" or something? The Chinese are the only ones who use the Q- designation, I think. Ripper, no joke. The X-6 was supposed to be powered by a General Electric P1 nuclear reactor, and it had a crew complement of five: a pilot, copilot, flight engineer and two nuclear engineers. As...

    Name that Bird!

Skyraider. The X-6 is actually the nuclear-powered bomber... it's a converted B-36 (4 jet engines *and* 6 props facing backwards - "pusher" type). Thankfully it was never actually powered up. People in 1955 were a little kooky.. E-4.

    Name that Bird!

That's the Fairchild C-82 Packet, which was the predecessor to the C-119 "Flying Boxcar" (who named those things back in those days? Honestly..) Next.. what is the X-6? (it doesn't have a name, i'm just asking if any of you know what it is.) Quite possibly my favorite X-plane because...

    Name that Bird!

I think we're both right- there's the Messerschmitt 110 and the Embraer EMB-110 "Bandeirante".

    Name that Bird!

The cute nickname is actually the FE.2-B "Fee". It looks like a big exposed wooden frame with canvas wings and a gun on the back. :) T-34 is the Mentor, and the 110 is made by Embraer. Here's an easier one... what's the Terminator?
