Long time WC fan, now solo-gamedev, presenting Star Nomad 2

@Minuteman Thanks for the support! I was happy with how it turned out, especially given my in-experience with game design and coding. But it's a good learning process and so far I am fortunate enough to be able to remain a gamedev. If anyone knows JavaScript, they will be able to do entire...

    World of Warships

It's great up to tier 7 or so, then it tanks real quick. High tier gameplay is really punishing due to the massive jump in repair costs vs credits earnt. Basically even if you have a premium account for the bonus credit income, you still struggle to break even. So you kinda need a premium ship...

@Minuteman It's set for release on the 14th. I'm doing a beta test now with gamers as well as reviewers, getting their feedback, particularly on balance & progression will help me to fine-tune it for a better game on release. There's big ships with huge guns as well as big drone carriers...

It's live on Steam! http://store.steampowered.com/app/414950 Happy to give out a few keys to the moderators of this site so that they can do a giveaway to fellow spacesim fans! Please let me know if that's something you guys are interested in. It's the least I could do to give back to...

    Then this happened...

It ends well though, they did the series and characters justice. Season 3 is also the best. I hated Enterprise, it felt like "Star Trek dumbed down, sexed up for the masses". Classic and TNG still best. DS9 and Voyager were great too. I suspect the next one will even be more dumbed down...

    Then this happened...

I really enjoyed watching Defiance, sad that it ended after 3 seasons. It seems odd that good sci-fi shows like Firefly & Farscape gets canned when so many awful shows just go on and on.. If I had to guess, sci-fi shows that I like a lot, Babylon 5, Jeremiah, Defiance didn't do too well...

Thanks! It just passed Steam Greenlight this morning. Hopefully I can release Star Nomad 2 polished and bug-free in December. :)

Anyone excited for the new Star Wars Battlefront?

@RogueBanshee They do have an aerial combat level, it looks really cool as each side take turn to be the "Escort that Big Fat Target" fighters. Space battle will probably come later in a DLC, knowing EA/DICE... -_-

Star Citizen Reaches One Million Backers!

I'm okay with waiting til whenever its done (enough time to make it good!) and I hope that CIG understands that the core fans of this genre have no issues with that. They should even make it clear "it's done when its done" to avoid repeated disappointment as ETA deadlines are passed. @Wojo If...

Anyone excited for the new Star Wars Battlefront?

For you PC gamers out there, here's a nice benchmark: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/star_wars_battlefront_beta_vga_graphics_performance_benchmarks,5.html Runs excellent on most GPUs and the comments about graphics from other reviewers seem all about authenticity of the Star Wars look and...

    Escapist Article on Star Citizen

@Darkmage I don't mind that SC take many more years to complete. That was my point earlier, CIG should just say "ETA: When its done" and this is a non-issue for everyone. There would be zero expectations of some sort of deadline from ANYONE. While @ChrisReid has a point that crowdfunding has an...

    Escapist Article on Star Citizen

Can't believe so much drama and @Quarto I agree that CIG or CR suing journalists as well as demanding their sources just adds fuel to the fire.

I dont know how it will turn out but this just escalated a lot. Derek Smart has hired lawyers and they have a statement ready, he's gonna publish it soon.

    Escapist Article on Star Citizen

@Quarto Thanks for the write-up, reading it over a few times, I understand where you are coming from, the unprecedented funds raised demands an unprecedented game. I honestly do not mind if CIG come out and say "We need as much $$ as possible and as much time as it requires" to finish this...

Very! Hopefully it will be a smooth launch and less buggy than BF4.

    Escapist Article on Star Citizen

I like the way Blizzard goes about their game development, they start by saying "ETA: When it's done". That way, nobody can misunderstand their intentions. It would have been great if CIG/Chris Roberts started that way, then this wouldn't even be an issue. Now there's this cloud of negativity...

    Escapist Article on Star Citizen

The only thing that can silence critics is delivery of a product, barring that, a show of transparency where funds are used as well as a proper timeline. Saying that CR's project gets delayed is normal, well yes, he has that record. So why did he promise late 2014 during the KS? He should have...

    Escapist Article on Star Citizen

My biggest concern is the feature creep or rather, ambition. I know CR set out to make the most ambitious spacesim ever, it's to be respected. Dream big. Freelancer itself had a trouble development. It was due in 2001, delayed to 2003. Look at it's scope and compare what they are aiming for now...

I've always had a long love for spacesims ever since the early 90s, as a teen with a joystick in hand enjoying the wing commanders way too much. But the best times were in Privateer 1 & 2. Back then, I had always wanted to be a gamedev, but life took a different course and I ended up in...
