Simplest solution is to get a joystick. If you love space sims, it probably wouldn't be too far out of your way or set you back too much. I love my Thrustmaster T16000m. Have had it for years and it never drifts, unlike many a junk logittech or saitek joystick I've bought over the decades...

Makes sense. In Wine (and therefor proton) , you have to specify if you are using a native library which is the windows library that comes with the app vs the built-in one which is wine's version. Built-in is default. Very important to note if you are attempting dll overrides in other apps.

Well I think you are misinterpreting the hair in the original sprite. It's suppose to be short curly black. As for the face, the original sprite is perhaps a little lighter but definitely African. Yours Id think of as Middle Eastern or Indian.

Really neat. I find the AI's decisions on the backgrounds distractingly hilarious. Like I can see why it made the choices it did without the full context. I don't know if there is a way to isolate the foreground from the background and do those separately?

If emulation is the way with the origional patch, I believe PCemu/86box already have 3dfx emulation. Though it's a pain to set up. Honestly I think the method for playing these movies, specifically Odvs' enhanced versions just needs to be redone from the ground up.

Excellent! Yeah Im in the same boat with WCP/WCIV DVD patches. Maybe one day someone will do a libvlc type patch. That really does work well for WC3

Oh yes, absolutely. I've never been able to get the DVD patch to work for WCP or WC4 in linux wine. I know some people have had some luck but I find the whole thing extremely finicky. But this new libvlc method is working wonders for WC3. Here is to hoping!
