I didn't until you brought it up! I think the cheeks look a bit chubbier than either Hamil or Blue Hair, which lends to the CR comparison.
Besides that, I like all the pictures where he has a hat or helmet on, while the bare-headed picture... not so sure. With the original Blue Hair, I always...
Wow, that voice acting! Can you go into details about how you achieved that? Machine learning? Sampling? Audio manipulation? Just being a great impressionist? A mix of the above?
Hmmm. I wonder if you can figure out some way to spice up the reticle. Contrasted with all the awesome improvements the classic reticle looks a bit flat and painted on in comparison.
Just stopped by (after an eight year posting absence) to say:
This is awesome.
In the future I might be able to lend a hand with programming if you're looking any for help. For the foreseeable future I'm frantically getting a KS together though. It looks like you're doing just fine on your own...
The source code isn't the same as the actual game content though. There are tons of old games that have source ports -- quite a few of them on GOG -- that still require the original game files to play. Giving out the source does not mean giving out the game, and could even make the game more...
I don't think that's right. If you change your brightness in mid-project you're going to need to recalibrate your display. I've never heard of this method before, and only very rarely hear anybody recommending a luminance outside of 80-150cd/m2, with 120cd/m2 being most commonly used. There's a...
Pretty much any serious photo-shopper or graphic artist will turn the brightness waaayyy down. I'm not a serious graphics artist by any stretch of the imagination, but I do like not being blinded all the same ;)
@scoobydoo
Yeah, that looks perfectly fine in terms of brightness. In terms of the...
It *is* dark, and the 2nd picture almost looks like cell shading thanks to the thick black edges. Everything is viewable on my semi-calibrated HP LP2475w though, which is a moderately expensive IPS display.
Most LCD monitors have default settings that are far too bright, so that they'll stand...
The cockpit and mention of mines remind me of Descent. The video on their home page looks nifty -- I wonder if that hollowed out asteroid is procedurally generated? I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
