I was trying to Complete O3 with Plasma Cannons as well, but the problem is Demon's can outrun plasma bolts. Switch to Lasers and you can actually hit them as they are afterburning away. I still had to hire four wingmen, and try it a couple of times, but it went from impossible to doable. Hope...

Also have this issues, I think I know what I did to make this problem start. I went back into the bar to talk to Tayla again. Now there are two Centurion's and six Talons, and since I aparently suck at fighting I keep losing. If your stuck with this problem simply goto the mission computer...
