COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Ah, Colonel! I suspect there's little need for an introduction.

MELEK: Greetings, Colonel. Never did I expect our paths to cross again.

COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: Small universe.

MELEK: My only regret is the circumstances that now bring us together. Since my personal surrender to you, Colonel, we Kilrathi have tried to coexist peacefully with Terrans.

CAPTAIN WILLIAM EISEN: Melek and his convoy are seeking safe passage back to their new homeland in Pasqual.

MELEK: We have been harassed by unknown forces for the past 48 hours.

1ST LIEUTENANT VELINA SOSA: He brought us a copy of his ship's D.R. log, sir.

COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: That must be the weapon that was used back in Hellespont.

CAPTAIN WILLIAM EISEN: My thoughts exactly, now...

COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: I've seen that before.

COLONEL JACOB "HAWK" MANLEY: So have I. When I first signed on with Confed, there was a rookie pilot on my ship. He's the only man I ever met who could do that trick.

COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: What was his name?

COLONEL JACOB "HAWK" MANLEY: He was transferred out real quick. Disappeared into Confed Intelligence Ops. I can't remember his name, but he flew under the callsign of Seether.

1ST LIEUTENANT VELINA SOSA: I could do a lookup in Confed registry.

CAPTAIN WILLIAM EISEN: That wouldn't do any good, Lieutenant: when Confed Intel wants you blanked, you're gone forever.

COLONEL JACOB "HAWK" MANLEY: I heard some weird talk about a 'G.E.' program, but never found out what it was.

COLONEL CHRISTOPHER BLAIR: I'd just love to get that son of a bitch in my sights.

COLONEL JACOB "HAWK" MANLEY: No offense, Colonel, but you wouldn't want to tangle with that guy. If he was that good then...

CAPTAIN WILLIAM EISEN: Melek, I'd like to keep this recording. Ah, this, combined with the information that we've collected and decoded, will have to be enough. We've got less than a week before the Assembly votes. Colonel, I want you to meet me back here in ten. It's time we made our move.

c.i.c. - eisen, melek, sosa, hawk -g2 Blair enters to find the strange sight of melek standing there with eisen and the others. sosa seems fascinated by melek. Hawk has nothing but disdain.ÿÿ Blair isn't sure what to say.

eisen Little need for introduction, I suspect.

melek Greetings, Colonel. Never did I expect our paths to cross again.

blair Small universe.

melek My only regret is the circumstances that now bring us together. Since my personal surrender to you, Colonel, we Kilrathi have tried to coexist peacefully with Terrans.

eisen Melek and his convoy seek safe passage back to their new home system of Pasqual.

melek We have been harassed by unknown forces for the past 48 hours.

sosa (pushing buttons) He brought us a copy of his ship's D.R. log...

everyone looks at the monitors which display --

The Kilrathi convoy being attacked by a single unmarked (Black Lance) fighter...

The fighter dives at one of the Kilrathi ships and FIRES a 'Flash-Pak'...

This is followed by the fatal flash-explosion BLOWING OUT from the ship's interior.

Blair looks at eisen.

Blair That's the weapon that must have been used back in Hellespont.

Eisen My thoughts exactly.

Back on the monitors --

The Black Lance fighter loops around the destroyed Kilrathi vessel, performs that incredible "mine-drop/afterburner" maneuver, and vanishes.

Blair shakes his head.

Blair (grim) I've seen that before.

Hawk So have I... (off everyone's surprise) Years ago, when I first signed on with Confed, there was a rookie pilot on my ship. He's the only man I've ever seen who could do that trick.

eisen What's his name?

Hawk (thinking) He was transferred out real quick. Disappeared into Confed Intelligence Ops. (beat; shrugs) Can't remember his real name ... but he flew under the callsign of Seether.

Blair just stares darkly at the blank monitors.

sosa I could do a lookup in the Confed registry.

Eisen Wouldn't do any good. When the Intel boys want you blanked, you're gone for good.

hawk Heard some weird talk about a ... 'G.E.' program but I never found out what it was.

Blair (frustrated) I'd just like to get the son-of-a-bitch in my sights.

Hawk No offense, Colonel, but you don't want to tangle with that guy. If he was that good back then ...

he doesn't need to finish the thought. ÿÿ Eisen Melek, I'd like to keep your recording. That, combined with the data we've been able to collect and decode, will have to be enough. We've got less than a week before the Assembly's vote. (heading out) Meet me back here in ten, Colonel. It's time to make a move.

and he's gone.
