A Starbase is a massive installation in space used for military and civilian use such as Supply Depot, Science Lab, Defense, Shipyard, Unit/Fleet headquarters, barracks, trading post, listening post and so on. Notable examples is the Terran Confederation Headquarters in orbit around one of the moons of Jupiter.

A standardized star base design used by the Confederation. These models are modular in design and are often used in frontier areas because of their ease of construction.
