INT. MIDWAY REC ROOM (GUMP)
Finley is at the bar. She comes up...
- FINLEY
- Have a drink?
- CASEY
- Oh, thanks, Aurora. What’s new in your
- camp?
- (CONTINUED)
CONTINUED:
She gets closer to him.
- FINLEY
- You know, now that I've found a way to
- cut through the alien jamming, we've
- made contact with the Kats on E'Loy.
- CASEY
- Would these transmissions be
- classified?
- FINLEY
- (nods)
- Strictly need to know for senior
- officers. If a certain Lieutenant were
- to hear about it he'd be risking a
- court martial.
- CASEY
- (a grin)
What are you waiting for? Spill the beans.
- FINLEY
- What was once the capital city of E'Loy
- has been lain to waste. The Kilrathi
- have uploaded data on the alien craft
- and I'm processing it now.
- CASEY
- Do they require assistance?
- FINLEY
- There are too few Kat left to help. And
- apparently they count themselves lucky.
- The aliens took many prisoners...
- (long pause)
- CASEY
- And...?
- FINLEY
- And... that's it. I lost contact right
- after their data upload. I've been
- trying to reestablish communication for
- the last several hours to no avail.
- CASEY
- Not that I wanted to hear anything
- more.

INT. ALIEN SHIP TORTURE CHAMBER
A helpless, bound Blair has been strapped into a bizarre, alien-shaped
chair in a starkly lit chamber. Various machines are positioned around the
chair, ready to be moved into place when needed.
- BLAIR
- Who are you? What do you want?
Blair's chair suddenly swivels around, and a bank of bright lights shine
down into his face. His eyes blink. Beyond the lights we can barely make
out several shadowy figures.
Blair struggles against his bindings as he hears strange rustlings and
moans in the shadows; sees bizarre shapes moving toward him.
- BLAIR
- Whatever you're planning to do; get it
- over with. I'm a busy man.
An adjustable appendage shaped like a giant wrench whines down from above
so that its open jaws frame Blair's head.
Two thin, metal rods emerge from either side of the "wrench." As their
blinking tips touch his temples, Blair reacts with a start.
- BLAIR
- Damn you!
A GLOWING GLASS KNIFE now whines down from the ceiling on a steel armature.
It descends toward the helpless Blair. He struggles, but there's nothing he
can do. Ever so slowly, the knife nears his left eye. Blair screams.
INT. MIDWAY REC ROOM
-- As Casey abruptly wakes up, having fallen asleep on one of the tables.
He is alone in the Rec Room; clearly troubled by the lingering images of
the dream.
At least it was just a nightmare -- or was it?
