The TCS Iason was a Terran Confederation exploration ship commanded by Jedora Andropolos. On 2629.105, it became the first Confederation ship to encounter the Kilrathi. Captain Andropolos beamed the standard wideband non-verbal greeting to the then-unidentified ship and then waited motionlessly for twenty-two minutes. The Kilrathi then opened fire and destroyed the Iason with all hands.
