flight deck - paulsen, seether -f1 Blair and Catscratch (and red-shirt #1 if he survived) approach their captain -- who has someone new with him...

seether appears to be paulsen's new right-hand man. he stands quietly by the captain's shoulder. very observant. very alert. the icy eyes.

paulsen I'm proud to be commanding you men and I appreciate your valiant attempt at apprehending these criminals. I assure you that we shall prevail. (beat; to Blair) Colonel, you have set aside your personal loyalties for a higher duty: your duty to Confed -- and your efforts will not be wasted.

seether (coolly) The traitor, Eisen, will pay.

on reflex, blair salutes; begins to leave the deck. he has operated purely on gut instinct: his life, committed to confed. but this has been the most difficult thing he's ever done. his captain is gone. his friends, maniac ... and vagabond.

he may have served confed. but he has never been more alone...
