Burst Signal Communication Relays are extremely important for the functioning of the burst signal network. Placed at strategic points, these relays act as amplifiers to burst signals sent from ships. The amount of power needed to directly transmit across sectors is so large that nothing but the largest capital ships and installations are capable of sending a message unaided. Comm relays receive the messages and amplify the signal so it may reach its destination.
