Another variation of a star base used by the Confederation. Like the other variants, thousands of these stations are littered throughout Confederation space. They serve as important defensive and economic hubs for local areas and provide a degree of protection from most attacks.
One known Star Base was located in Blackmane system. It was abandoned in 2669 to the Kilrathi when the strategic situation made holding it untenable.
