"Lightning" was a Terran Confederation fighter pilot assigned to the TCS Tiger's Claw. While on a patrol around Kurasawa IV on 2654.282, Lightning, alongside Joseph Khumalo, came under attack by two wings of Gratha. The pair managed to destroy five Gratha before Lightning was killed. Khumalo later mused that, had the pair been flying Rapier IIs, neither he nor Lightning would have taken a single hit in the fight.
