The TCS Princeton (CV-48) was a Concordia-Class Fleet Carrier in the service of the Terran Confederation.
The TCS Princeton was one of the last Concordia-class Fleet Carriers to be produced for front line service. It was under construction in the 2670s and was slated to be commissioned in 2673, four years after the end of the Terran-Kilrathi War. During that year, the Border Worlds Conflict had raised tensions between the Terran Confederation and the Union of Border Worlds, a Terran alliance that sought independence from the Confederation. The conflict was instigated by the Black Lance, a secretive special forces organization that sought to remilitarize the Confederation by provoking warfare between the two factions. The TCS Princeton was later commandeered by Black Lance operatives. They planted explosives around the vessel to ensure that no one opposed their operations on the carrier.
During the conflict, the BWS Intrepid launched an offensive against Confederation positions in the Speradon System, where the Black Lance was continuing to build its arsenal of weapons and warships. The TCS Princeton became an ideal target for a Border Worlds raid, as the Border Worlds Space Navy lacked the vessels necessary to face the Confederation Space Navy directly. It was poorly-defended and in orbit around the outermost planet of the Speradon System while receiving repairs, making it vulnerable. The crew of the Intrepid eventually chose to capture it.
During the assault, Border Worlds forces destroyed the Princeton's defenses, allowing Border World Marines to board the vessel. With help from the regular crew, 40 of whom chose to defect to the Border Worlds, the marines easily overwhelmed the Black Lance operatives, and the carrier was captured intact, together with its cargo of a full squadron of Dragon-class Heavy Fighters. It was later commandeered by crew from the BWS John Hopkins, whose Captain Toliver became the Princeton's commander. The Princeton was then commissioned as a Border Worlds vessel.
