Port Hedland is a star system in the Vega Sector. It contains at least two inhabited planets, McLaren and the water planet Hurricane. As of April 2654, it was controlled by the Terran Confederation.
During the Vega Sector Campaign, the TCS Tiger's Claw conducted several missions in the system. These included:
- The escort of a Drayman-class Transport carrying vital supplies on 2654.139.
- A four-point patrol route of the system which included the Confederation's first encounter with the Kilrathi's new Fralthi-class Cruiser on 2654.140.
- The defense of all Confederation ships in the system, who had come under attack by Kilrathi forces and an attack on a Fralthi-class Cruiser on 2654.141.
