These heavier turret guns are mounted on larger capital ships - cruisers, carriers and dreadnaughts. This is the default laser type mounted on all turreted CIS ships. Even if the produced heat is 0, the weapon has a quite inconsistent rate of fire of 4-7 shots between a short cooling duration.
