In 2669, the [[Bronte Corporation]], a major exporter of food products in the Gemini Sector, arranged for a blockade of the planet Palan to prevent the rival [[Rondell Corporation]] from exporting its products. Rondell's agent [[Lynn Murphy]] hired privateers who were eventually able to eliminate the blockade. Among these privateers was [[Grayson Burrows]], who had come to the Palan system in search of Dr. [[Lemuel Monkhouse]], who himself had become trapped on Palan by the blockade.
