Della Guardia was commander of the TCS Formidable, an Exeter class destroyer, around the time of 2654.279. On that date, the Formidable was under a Kilrathi attack in the Kurasawa system. Christopher Blair, formerly stationed on the Formidable, and Kien Chen, pilots from the TCS Tiger's Claw, rescued the destroyer. Following a rendevous with the Claw, Guardia requested the opportunity to meet her escort.
