Robert H. Goddard was a scientist during the early twentieth century on Earth. He is generally considered to be the father of rocketry science.
The Goddard System and the colony of Goddard II are both named for Robert H. Goddard. Each year on Goddard II, Goddard's Birthday is celebrated by the firing of 12,000 rockets.
