Hydrocarbon is a prized natural resource. The planet Nanjing in the Chengdu System is rich in hydrocarbons. TCS Tiger's Claw bartender Sam told Christopher Blair that the hydrocarbons were the only reason why anyone would want to colonize Nanjing.
